This plan is for a collapsible Steering wheel mount for a separate chair or couch. Personally I will be using it with my couch for Gran Turismo. I need this to be portable and collapsible for easy storage because I will have to use it in my living room and it will need to be put away when not in use.

The whole thing will be made of PVC pipe and fittings. There will be several stages to this build. The picture shown only shows phase one and the base line idea. Phase two will involve wood or fiberglass inserts to close it in and base boards on the bottom with carpet for a better feel. Phase three is still in the building process, as I would like to have some sort of lighting effect with the GT logo on the front. Ideas for this are many. An effect and working idea are still in the works. This project starts this weekend (4-21/22-12). I will try and post pictures and progress as I go along.

I want to have this complete by this weekend and if things go the way I have them planned in my head, then I should have plenty of pictures to show you and After the project is complete I will make available the Sketch up files I used to plan my project.

Well, I completed it over the weekend for the most part but I had to make some major changes. After it was complete with some sort of sturcture I found it was to long. so I had to shorten it. Then the post to hold it all up were too close so I had to find a way to widen it.

Here are pictures of what I ended up with. From what you can see, It is very long. Too long. What I ended up doing is shorting it and fixing the narrow-ness where the legs go in.

From this picture you can see that Shorting it made a difference. I then had to fix the bottom frame and remove the T fittings. The new problem was figuring out how to move the two peices that hold up and get them in a wider position.

So, What I came up with is this

No, Duct tape wasnt the solution. What you do not see is the hot glue holding it all together, ansd keeping it from sliding back and forth. At this point it works well. I will be adding Felt on the bottom to keep the whole thing from sliding on the carpet. Here are the latest pictures

Whats Next?

Well, Its a little to short but I will not be fixing that. Insted I am going to put beams on the bottom from and add a board with carpet on it. It will raise the pedals up a little more than an inch but should not be a problem. The carpet will keep the pedals from moving about. For Now, Its time to race!

This is fairly Cheap design and construction. Most of the pieces usually cast $0.30 each, with the pipe its self costing under $2.00. If you need tools for this your looking about an extra $20.00 for the cutter and the glue.

The Silly Season is always busy for me and I seem to let the little things slip away. I am still working on my GT Academy trials but things are slow going. I am having fun playing with new Christmas toys and playing MAG. I do have to say that MAG is a very fun game with lots more to do then the mindless Modern Warfare type of play on other FPS's.

I haven't had a whole lot of time on GT5, but plan on making some time up in the coming days. With Having a wheel and getting at least two hours of play time, competing with a ten year old and my wife for time on the TV, then working… It's not easy.

I am also working on MAG. I have a skill set in mind but it is slow going as I am still discovering new aspects and strategies of the game. Other than that not much else going on. Have fun.

On a Plug of a member on the GTPlanet Forums, There Is a new segment that Joey D has started. "GTP's Star in a Reasonably Priced Car". Joey has finished it's first Interview/guest segment with a forum moderator "TB".
This I feel, is a great Thing. and looks to be fun for all that are in involved. TB's interview can be seen here, Along with video.

I have a plan that I would like to implement for the GT5 Info that info Involves all of the readers here.

Since I have started this little project, the Sites Visits have Skyrocketed. That is a good thing! What I would like to do is get the readers involved somehow. So What I thought I would do is ask you – "The Readers" – for some "Photo Mode" Screen Shots of all the cars in GT5.

Here is how I see it working.

Email your Car shots to GT5@jsgstudios.com
I will upload them with-in 48 hours, and name them "Courtesy of (your Name)" for the image with your PSN name or GTP Name. And if both are short enough, both.
They will then be put into the gallery, and soon linked in all the pages that have there name.

Want to help out?
I will need the following:

1. Your PSN or GTP name
2. Attach UP TO 5 images to your email (5 is the max)
3. type in the exact name of the car, so it will go in the correct gallery

I will then name that image with alias.

Currently I am finishing up the “GT5 Prize Car” List. (You can find it in the GT5 Menu) This is a huge undertaking as it has taken me about 2 days to figure out a way to get them they way I wanted them in Word Press. Word Press doesnt play nice with tables, and table are a thing of the past (HTML Talk). In the coming weeks I will be linking as much as I can with these lists. Tracks will link to info on that track, Makes of cars will link to that Manufacture and the cars that are in the game and the models will link to that car in the game with in-game screenshots. Its a big Project, and Im up for the challenge! All this and I have to work too.
